Digicel Sponsor Under 15 Cricket Team
July 20th 2009 - Digicel Sponsor Under 15 Cricket TeamThe Vanuatu National Digicel Under-19 Cricket Team will be leaving for Canada for the World Cup Qualifier on the 27th August 2009.
The Digicel Under-19 National Cricket Team that are going to Canada consists of 14 Players and 2 officials.
Digicel Vanuatu are sponsoring the Vanuatu Digicel Under 19 Rugby Team to go to the Oceania Championships.
In Canada our Vanuatu team will be playing against the top 2 teams from THE Americas, Africa, Asia, Europe and East Asia Pacific. The top two countries in the East Asia Pacific team are Vanuatu and PNG.
These teams were selected to represent East Asia Pacific by competing in the Under-19 Trophy in Port Moresby in May-June 2009. PNG came first and Vanuatu took the second place.
The Vanuatu Cricket Association’s General Manager, Pierre Chilia quoted “Thank you to Digicel Vanuatu for the sponsorship. We are looking forward to playing with and impressing some of the big names of Cricket.”
Garry Patterson from Digicel wished the Under 19 Cricket Team the best of luck with their games in Canada.
