September 1st 2009 - Digicel sponsors Vanuatu Rugby AssociationDigicel Vanuatu are sponsoring the Vanuatu Under 19 Rugby Team to go to the Oceania Championships.
The Oceania Championships will be running between 25th August 2009 and 5th September 2009 in Apia, Samoa. This is the first time the team has been to Samoa and the second time the team has travelled for tournaments. In 2008, the Under 19 Rugby Team Travelled to Fiji.
On Tuesday 4th August 2009, Ephraim Songi, Digicel Vanuatu’s Financial Controller gave a cheque to Virasen Bakokoto, the President of the Vanuatu Rugby Union.
Vanuatu’s Under 19 Rugby Team consists of 26 Players and 5 Officials.
They will be playing against Fiji, Samoa, Tonga and PNG for third or fourth place.
Digicel Vanuatu sponsored the Rugby Under 19 Team with their participation fee, airfare costs, accommodation, meals, internal transportation, T-shirt and hats.
The Vanuatu Rugby Union expressed their thanks to Digicel for the support they have provided to the Under 19 Rugby Team and the opportunity to participate in the Oceania Championships.
Ephraim from Digicel wished the Under 19 Rugby Team the best of luck with their games in Samoa.
