What is Friends and Family?

A promotion which Digicel has launched that enables each prepaid subscriber to select minimum of 1 of 3 numbers that he/she can call at a discounted rate. He/s he can even select a Digicel postpaid number. As the initiator, you get to call others in your list for at a discounted rate, however, in order for others in the group to enjoy the same discounted rate, they need to include your number in their list also.

How does this new service work?

Basically, a prepaid customer can register, add or delete numbers from his/her list. Registering, adding or deleting a number (s) is free of charge, the prepaid customer will not be charged for sending a text to the respective short codes. It is free to register numbers, but it costs VT40 if you want to change a number after registering it.

To register a number:

Simply text in the numbers and send it to 233.

For example, to add the numbers 5555100 and 5555353, simply text 5555100 5555353, send to 233

To delete a number from the existing list:

You can delete one number at a time.

For e.g., you wish to delete the numbers, 5XXXXXX send to 335, 5XXXXXX send to 335 and 5XXXXXX send to 335.

Simply send a blank text to 245. You will get a response message stating all the numbers in the group:

How much are the charges?

What happens when Prepaid Subscriber submits a 4^th number to the 233 when they already have 3 numbers selected for their friends & family?

They will receive the following message in bislama:

English:

We’re sorry; you have already registered 3 numbers. Please delete one number before registering another.

Bislama:

Mifala i sori, yu rejistarem 3 namba finis. Plis karem aot 1 namba bifo yu rejista wan nara namba.

What happens when a subscriber trys to add a number that is not a Digicel number ?

they will receive the following message in bislama.

English:

We’re sorry; your contact is not a Digicel customer. To enjoy the lowest rates, please ask your contact to join Vanuatu’s Bigger, Better Network today!”

Bislama:

Mifala i sori, namba ia emi no Digicel kastoma. Blo enjoiem ol low rate, plis talem kontak blo yu blo joinem Bigga betta netwok blo Vnauatu tedei!

What happens when a customer registers a Digicel number successfully?

They receive the following text in bislama:

English:

 Your contact has been registered.  Thank you for using Digicel’s Friends and Family.  Now you can take advantage of the lowest per minute tariffs in Vanuatu.

Bislama:

Kontak blo yu i rejista. Tankiu tumas blo jusum Digicel Frens mo Famali. Noaia yu kat advantage lo ol low rate lo wan minit lo Vanuatu.

 How much does it cost to register my three friends?

It is free to register, delete or check the numbers selected for friends and family.
